Directions
You can find us on Google Maps and some other maps and GPS apps, but if not (or if you prefer, or just in case)… here is how to get to us:
1. From Joburg, take the N12 toward eMalahleni and go straight for about 250km. Somewhere in the middle the N12 merges with the N4. A few km after the Machado toll gate, make sure to stay on the N4 (marked Waterval Boven) by staying on the right lane (a lot of cars go left toward Schoemanskloof). The next exit is for Waterval Boven.
2. From the N4 exit to Waterval Boven, go straight for 1.9km, and then turn right 100m after passing under the three railway bridges. Beware of some potholes from here on... After 1.5km you'll arrive at a Stop sign. Turn right again and then go straight for 2.3km: steep uphill at first, then pass the hospital on your left and then downhill.
Be careful: just in front of the Elandskrans sign (before the downhill) the tar road becomes a dirt road without much warning. It is generally in relatively good condition, but with a low-clearance city car you may want to drive a bit carefully here.
3. After those 2.3km, just after crossing a little bridge, you should see a small Tegwaan sign on your left. Turn left onto the access road and follow the signs to "Tegwaan" (left a first fork) and then "Main+Stone" (right at second fork) to come and get the keys from us. This access road is a bit bumpy so just drive slowly and if you have a low-clearance car maybe also drive one the ridges to stay clear from loose rocks.
Please note, there is limited MTN cell service at Tegwaan.

About Us
We are a Belgian & American couple who met on a rock climbing trip to Waterval Boven in 2010. Our lives have brought us many places since then, and we recently found ourselves back in Southern Africa, and close (again) to our beloved Boven! We purchased Tegwaan Country Getaway in 2017. We have a wonderful community of friends who have supported us in our Tegwaan adventure, including giving their time, energy and support - thanks to all of you!
Our goal with Tegwaan is to build a haven for conscious living away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Come back to nature with us and take a walk through our small, but growing, permaculture garden, say hello to our friendly chickens, swim in the spring fed swimming pool and just relax!
We will be adding future accommodation options, so stay tuned for more places to stay!
