Hiking

The Stone Circles Loop is a must! Check out the ancient and mysterious stone circles that dot the hills around the farm. Or if you want to burn more calories, hike down to the bottom of the Rock Fairies waterfall, or to the top of iMemeza mountain for a panoramic sundowner experience (or both).

Fishing

We have Bass in all of our 5 dams (catch and release only, please bring your own gear). Can you beat 4.5kg? Fly-fishing just across the road at Troutways. Free for guests, day permit for visitors.

Swimming

Swim in our spring fed swimming pool, a dam or take a hike to the waterfall where you can dip in a natural pool. 

Yoga

We now host yoga classes in the garden (or in the barn, depending on the weather) every Sunday morning at 9am. Non-guests also welcome!

Massages

Enjoy a luxurious massage or spa treatment in the quietness of your room or in the serenity of the garden. Contact Crystal Healing Spa for a full range of mobile spa treatments to be pampered in the comfort of your own space.

Climbing & Abseiling

Climb at the famous Restaurant Crags within a 15 minute walk from the farm! Or if you’re feeling adventurous explore the forgotten Triple Tier just 20 minutes away! And if you want to (re-)discover new (old) crags, all the Sport Valley and Island crags are also within walking distance. Or take a short drive up to Wonderland, the upper crags by Tranquilitas.

Horse-back Riding

For a genuine horse-riding experience! Susan and Mary are horse whisperers and can organise champagne breakfast tours, sundowners tours, historic tours, etc. Contact BBK Trails.

Mountain Biking

Amazing mountain biking trails! The Rim Trail and the Boven Mountain Traverse start/end next to Tegwaan. Contact Tranquilitas for permits.

Elands Waterfall (the waterfall) — 5km / 15min

Kaapsehoop — 63km / 50min

A cute little town in the hills. Meet some of the wild horses in and around town. Take a stroll between strange rock formations. Enjoy live music during lunch at the Bohemian Grove Cafe.

Dullstroom — 53km / 1h

If you crave gourmet food, craft beer and whisky tastings!

Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage Site) — 118km / 1h30

This site is one of the world’s oldest geological structures, with volcanic and sedimentary rock dating back 3.6 to 3.25 billion years – around the time when the first continents were starting to form on the primitive Earth. Also referred to as the ‘Genesis of Life’, its geology includes the best preserved ancient rocks on Earth. The mountains are also believed to contain the oldest signs of life‚ with a micro fossil of bacteria discovered there that is estimated to be 3.1 billion years old.

This is South Africa’s 10th World Heritage Site. Other sites in South Africa include the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Robben Island, the Cradle of Humankind, Maloti-Drakensberg Park, Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape, the Cape Floral Region, the Vredefort Dome, Richtersveld and the ‡Khomani Cultural Landscape.
