Closer to Nature Weekend
23-25 October 2020
In times of change, we can all find nourishment by turning back to our roots, to nature as a source of reconnection and resource. Nestled in the mountains of Waterval Boven, just 3 hours from Joburg, Tegwaan Country Getaway invites just that.
We will be hosting a weekend of activities where you can reconnect with the nature in and around you. We have a variety of offerings in the line-up including yoga, conscious dance, meditation, and nature walks. Or you can just enjoy the slower pace, swim in the mountain water or explore the hills surrounding the farm.
Rates:
Weekend All Sessions for Adults (excluding accommodation): R400.
Weekend All Sessions for Kids (excluding accommodation): R200
Drop In Sessions: R120 per session for Adults and R100 for Kids
The Meditation Morning sessions are counted as one, so R120 would cover both mornings.
The following sessions are free: Barefoot Nature Walk & Mindfulness talk, Frog Sound Exploration and Tree Planting.
Speak to us about reduced rates, we don’t want money to be an obstacle!
For accommodation options email us at tegwaan.getaway@gmail.com or stay with any of our wonderful neighbours! Food is not included in the activities, however homemade wood-fired bread will be available for sale from our neighbours at Brown Earth.

Facilitators
Louise Denysschen
Expressive Movement is a facilitated movement meditation that encourages us to explore our natural movement with the support of a DJ'd set. To me, the dance floor is a sanctuary, a playground, a festival and so much more. After 11 years of dancing with Expressive Movement, I became an EM facilitator in 2018. It consolidated my years of exploring and studying embodied forms of process orientated psychology, my experience, and passion for holding spaces for people and my background in theatre with a focus on the arts as a community practice.

Yoga is the journey through your body back to yourself. It trains you in the subtle art of being in your body; an art that has helped me greatly as I floated from a strong headspace down into a more gentle heartspace and eventually into presence. My own journey went through Nature Conservation, Religious Studies, Fine Art and Yoga; Vinyasa, Pre/Postnatal Yoga, Kids Yoga, and eventually to Mindfulness and Meditation where I finally sat down in my body and learned to listen.

Hi. My name is James and I am an enthusiastic advocate for the practices of mindfulness and meditation. In fact I believe that they can save the world. Over the past 7 years I've designed and facilitated numerous meditation trainings and retreats. My focus is on the practical aspects of meditation and mindfulness as a part of the human experience, a way of being rather than another item on the “to-do” list. I currently teach yoga in Johannesburg and offer meditation training, coaching and counselling online https://jameshappecoaching.co.za/

I facilitate meditation & movement, and have a deep love for community and nature. I have been practicing for a decade and it has been an epic journey so far. Having studied with some remarkable teachers in meditation, yoga, martial arts, movement, acrobatics, dance & all things human all over the world, I have formed my own sharing which I call Original Condition. I founded Original Condition as a practice to share with people, creating a deeply engaging learning environment where you can focus your attention back to yourself. I provide transformative tools in the form of meditation & movement that empower people to connect to their very own, and turn problems into solutions. I am here simply to remind you of what you already are, and be by your side as you unstick your sticky stuff. An earnest commitment is how you grow.

Music has always been my preferred way to communicate, and connect, through music we can expand our awareness, and in music there is freedom to truly play. I have always been fascinated with sound, cymatics, and vibrations from the tiniest wings of an insect to the planets orbiting in perfect harmony together. This passion has lead me my whole life. I am intensely devoted to nature and deeply passionate about permaculture and how music can be used to inspire eco-consciousness especially in the youth. As a yogi, a children’s music teacher, as well as a performing artist, I have always known music, movement and mind(clear)ness can change our lives for the better, and when we can create harmony within our own “inner”verses, we can sing to the melodies of the Universe.
